It all started with a Thomas challenge.
A friend asked “do you think you could do a Thomas the tank engine cake for my son’s birthday, if you think you can handle it” the challenge was set.
Coming from a baking background, how hard could a cake based on a cartoon be? The cake turned out ok for my first attempt, although once it was completed and I looked at it I knew there were things I would do differently next time. Over the next 6-12 months whenever family or friends had a need for cake I was there perfecting my skills and techniques.
In early 2012 my daughter Charlie was born, this inspired me to create more custom cakes.
Cakes for Charlie was established in 2012, I am hoping one day to pass on my knowledge and legacy to my daughter because without her there would be no Cakes For Charlie.
